Inmagic has announced the release of Presto 4.1, jam-packed with new features and enhancements, together with Presto for DB/Text, both with many attractive web publishing features. DB/Text version 14.0 is anticipated for release in the next few weeks.

Maxus is moving premises
Maxus Australia is moving premises on October 20th. Our new address will be: Unit 24/574 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne, 3207 (see photo). Our postal address remains unchanged (PO Box 727, South Melbourne, 3205).
“Presto for DB/Text” announced
Maxus is pleased to introduce a new Inmagic product that will bring advanced web publishing capabilities to DB/TextWorks clients. The new product, “Presto for DB/Text,” is a limited version of Inmagic Presto , that will enable many new web publishing capabilities for DB/Text, while allowing textbases to continue to be created and maintained in DB/TextWorks. Presto for DB/Text will work with both SQL and non-SQL versions of DB/TextWorks.
Inmagic Genie 3.5 released
Inmagic has been released Genie v3.5 and here are a few highlights.
- Ability to remember search criteria
- Multiple library email addresses supported for requests sent from the Cart
- Enable viewing of URL links (eg. Book covers) as images in summary or detail reports
- Ability to update Genie configuration Files from a remote location

The inaugural Intelligent Information Symposium (IIS) was successfully held in Sydney on May 3-4. New ideas and future thinking featured in presentations by speakers and at the workshops. The event was also very well catered – check out the food in the photos.

Hints & tips: Managing the number of textbase users
Did you know that Text Works can set a limit to the number of people allowed to open any textbase at one time? When you work on a network, this feature could be useful if you need to limit access to any one textbase for editing reasons.
Day out at Puffing Billy
The first Inmagic Museum User Group meeting for 2012 was hosted by Puffing Billy Archives. Members were treated to a lunchtime train trip between Belgrave and Emerald Park Lake. It was a sunny Melbourne autumn day with wonderful views from the train windows and lots of DB/Text Works conversations over a light lunch. Volunteers from Puffing Billy Archives provided a commentary on the train’s history and highlights of the countryside.
Version 13 of Inmagic DB/Text for SQL released
DB/Text Works for SQL version 13 was released on December 6th, giving users of DB/Text Works and Web Publisher Pro on the SQL platform access to the features already added to the traditional Text Works software.
